Filippa K Fall/winter 2008 collection unveiled
Fashion label Filippa K showed its upcoming fall/winter 2008 collection in
the magnificent Golden Foyer at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm – a contrast-rich
setting for the new collection’s stylish blend of classic elegance and urban 70’s punk. The
fashion show also marked the starting point for a long-term partnership between Filippa K
and the Royal Swedish Opera.
The new collection’s playful combination of urban youth and timeless elegance was reflected
in the contrast between a modern fashion show and the legendary Golden Foyer of the Royal
Swedish Opera. 20 models, styled by Robert Rydberg, showcased the new collection to a
select group of guests and members of the international fashion press.

Celebrity Fashion
Aussie girl Yvonne Strahovski shines not just in her acting roles, but also in this shiny white blazer with contrasting orange
silky top. The influence of the 70’s and “Saturday Night Fever” surely cannot be denied. Blue jeans reduce the intensity of the
glam look and make it a fun style for anywhere and anytime. The large earrings bring in some of the new ethno look as a refreshing
contrast.
Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding is not afraid of strong colors and looks stunning in a candy color mini dress. The rich purple of the
scalloped seam on the right competes with the blinding orange of dress and lipstick. Platform stilettos in gold and a wide golden
bracelet take it all to the next glamorous level.

Stills - Fall Winter 2008
Glmaour is back!
For Winter 2008, Stills showcases an abundance of extremes, combining close-fitting, slim-cut skirts and trousers with long,
loose-fitting tops. Tight belts and high-waisted trousers allow a feminine accentuation of the waist; accompanied with a blazer,
this clearly shows the revival of the visually striking men’s suit. The astute combination of pre-war elements, such as pencil skirts
and satin blouses, with modern pieces shows the collection as one with interesting, subtle variety: originality that shows the
collection has both feet firmly in this millennium.

Body Shapes and What to Wear
When it comes to dressing right for each individual body shape, it is all about balance. With clothes we can influence the visual
appearance of our bodies, enhance what we like about ourselves and take the focus away from areas that we don’t want too much attention
to.
Clothes can’t change your body, that is a matter of diet, exercise and genetics and we better make friends with what we have, since it
is what it is. There is no rule for beauty. Every woman is beautiful in her own way. There are however a few rules on what to wear and
what to avoid for bringing out your best side.
Most common are five basic body shapes – the pear, the reversed pear, the apple, the hourglass and the yardstick – we may also call it
the asparagus, the willow or palm.
