Claire.dk - Spring Summer 2008
Pure and crisp spring in your wardrobe.
Spring is approaching – in your wardrobe too - and this season’s trend news lights up dark wardrobes like little sunflecks with a
stylish purity which has not been seen for a very long time.
This spring, claire.dk launches a collection which really lights up and brushes away the winter darkness. The collection radiates a
simplicity and purity inspired by the pure and crisp look known from the world of sports, the lightness of the safari style, and the
beautiful and simple cuts from the 1960s.
Focus is on opposites and clean, graphic lines in the silhouette. Oversize and volume is matched by simple, narrow and tight-fitting
items. As a result, this collection offers both figure-fitting Jackie O’ dresses and pinafore dresses and voluminous baby doll and
balloon dresses. The same consistent style is found among trousers and shorts. Loose gaucho trousers and casual safari shorts represent
some of the relaxed items, while super narrow and elegant cigarette pants and tight-fitting jeans are found in the rather more stylish
end of the scale. Combine the narrow trousers with oversize shirts, simple and sporty T-shirts and jackets or coats in a graphic
1960s A-line style to achieve this season’s pure look.
The colours are mainly soft and mellow, which nevertheless create a stark contrast to a few saturated dark nuances. At one end of the
scale, the saturated colours include a number of different hues of denim blue, mocha, dark grey, red, cherry and pink. At the opposite
end, the soft, sandy tones dominate, including light grey, grey melange, silver, light blue, khaki, light brown, gold and rose. The
combination of black and white dominates this season, underlining the pure, graphic look.
The crisp and pure feel is also characteristic of the materials. Rough natural materials, e.g. twill, cotton poplin and soft
sheepskin, dominate on jackets and trousers, while a selection of T-shirts and tops in cotton and soft jersey mixtures accompany the
light linen items inspired by the safari style. Lovely and simple sweaters in cotton and silk knitwear are set off against
tight-fitting sateen trousers and rough jeans in stretch denim.
Details have been carefully selected, underlining the simplicity of the clothes. As a result, mainly prints and patterns play a
central role in this collection, ranging from geometric figures and stylistic flower prints to sporty stripes and simple animal prints.
On the rather more sporty items, simple details such as pockets, applications and strings are used to underline the look, while
double-layered T-shirts and tops with waterfall drapings emphasise the chic style.
