Marie Méro - Spring Summer 2008
A formal yet relaxed look for summer by Marie Méro. Young-looking, feminine silhouettes
for all occasions with trousers, dresses and suits in light fabrics and soft, even exotic,
colours. The return of abstract patterns and flowered prints is eye-catching.
Flowing, airy fabrics are the summer’s main accent and fabrics find their origin in nature:
cotton, silk, linen, bamboo and combinations such as silk with cotton. Fine synthetic
fabrics and jersey also pay their respects, both in glossy and matte variants.
Regarding colour, new neutrals appear: scarcely definable tints of green, brown and grey,
natural timbres of grain, honey, vanilla and blue. Fruity pastels and soft, exotic tints
complete the picture. The crowning touch is the surprising combination of limestone, black
and red.
For the patterns, the fabric determines the choice. We see abstract and graphic prints,
exotic flowers, randomly placed dots and subtle stripes.
While skirts are available in every length, we notice an advance of trousers, especially the
fitted, straight version that is combined with a dress or tunic. Wide trousers are made in
jersey or polyester and capris replace last season’s 7/8 trousers.
In addition to trousers, there are many dresses in a wide range of fabrics and prints. The
silhouettes are also striking: an updated suit.
Marie Méro’s summer collection once again pays homage to today’s balanced, selfconfident
woman. Whether she is at work or in a less formal setting...
The Marie Méro collection is available in sizes 8-20
