Easiness, lightness, simplicity and comfort are the headwords of the latest VERSE collection 2008. Actual functionalism, modern androgyny mixed with a few romantic elements and a revival of the safari-styling are the most important themes shown in this collection.
 
On one hand the colours are reaching from various grey shades to beige, sand and taupe. Lavender, neon yellow, pale aqua add more colour to the story. On the other hand white, black and white with accent colours as grass green, pink, cherry, royal blue build the intensive colour palette. Lurex yarns or fabrics with a tinge of silver and gold lend a noble and modern appearance.
 
The qualities chosen cover the whole spectrum of light-weight cotton-voiles, cotton/linen blends with polyamide and polyester, satin stretch or linen with metal yarns.
 
Fancy stripes, partly with jacquards, Pucci prints, vichy checks, floral designs, ornamental ethnic prints with a reminisence to Africa and patched prints are the designs of the fabrics.
 
Sporty blazers, shorter blousons, parka types have large buttons or cargo elements as pockets, snap buttons, zippers Tunics and oversized blouses worn with belts stand besides shirts or feminine blouses. Casual polo shirts, hooded shirts or simple jersey shirts with draped necklines are new alternatives.
 
The new skirts are either slim or flared with pleats partly or all over. The new favourite length is between 65 and 75 cm. With trousers the styling depends on the outfit selected. Wide pleated trousers for androgyn suits, slim pencil trousers worn under layers of long shirts or blouses, cropped trousers from 7/8 lengths to bermuda lengths for high summer outfits.
 
Blouses / Jackets
 
Latest innovative qualities are light-weight nylons blended with cotton, memory-yarns, fabrics with chintz finishings, lurex, matte finishings, canvas, patent leather and piquées.
 
Varying from theme to theme the colour palette is large: black and white with accent colours as pink or cherry, neon colours in green, yellow with contrast colours as grass green, a maritime midnight blue, red and white, as well as natural colours like cream, caramel, toffee, sand.
 
The styling shows new silhouettes in A and O shapes. Large tunics and long blouses, babydoll- and shift dresses are worn as layers with short jackets on top.
 
Puffed and butterfly sleeves are new alternatives to classic cuts. Regarding jackets, the latest must-have are blousons and parkas predominantly in ultra-light-weight qualities.
 
The fabric patterns remind of the 60s and 70s: vichy checks, Pucci prints, graphic images, the retrolook of flower designs partly with batiks. Apart from that there are also ethnic elements or natural romantic patterns as a contrast to the colour fireworks.
